Thank you! For shading I find it easiest to use different pencils like HB, 2B, 4B, 6B, 8B etc. rather than trying to get several different shades from one pencils. It also depends on the amount of pressure you apply. Shading looks best when done with even pressure and strokes. I just makes sure all my lines go in the same direction and I try not to over blend my shading so it doesn't look messy. I'm not too experienced with color as of yet but that's what I think about shading. I hope that's somewhat useful and makes sense. I don't know haha. I am self taught so I figured out shading pretty quick with a little practice. Oh but one more tip: shading can take forever but it looks best when you pay attention to detail and shade evenly.
